Octopus Owner and Teacher
I am a certified English teacher (Helen Doron method) with experience teaching students of every age and every level. I lived in London for five years and in New Zealand for twelve, and I studied early childhood education at the Polytechnic in Wellington, New Zealand.
For five years I ran my own private English school in Gdańsk.
I teach online and in person, and lessons are tailored to what you need, so that learning is effective, interesting and enjoyable. I love helping people build their language skills and reach their goals.
My lessons are shaped entirely around you, whatever your age or level. I focus on practical speaking, listening, writing and reading, and every class is active, engaging and effective. With that individual approach you will reach your goals faster, and use English confidently in any situation.
How Octopus English teaches
Nobody explained grammar to your child before they spoke their first language. They heard it constantly, used it long before they understood it, and were praised for every attempt. Octopus English lessons are built the same way.
English only, nothing translated
Every lesson runs entirely in English, from the two-year-olds up. Meaning comes from pictures, objects, gestures and context rather than from a Polish equivalent, so children stop translating in their heads.
Listening every day at home
Every course comes with recordings of the songs and stories used in class. Ten to fifteen minutes a day in the background — breakfast, the car, tidying up — keeps English present between lessons.
Praise before correction
Children are praised for trying long before anyone tidies up their grammar. Nobody is corrected mid-sentence, and speaking is never treated as a test.
Repetition, not explanation
The same songs, stories and phrases return for weeks. A child hears a structure dozens of times before anyone names it, and often never needs it named at all.

Who we are
Octopus English is a new, private language school in Tczew. We teach children and teens in groups of up to eight, run a Matura preparation programme, and offer a smaller evening programme for adults. Every teacher stays with the same group for the whole year.
